Founded in 1983 and based in Tokyo, Japan, the Zoom Corporation spent its first years helping other manufacturers develop sound generator LSI, rhythm machines and MIDI synchronizer systems.
In 1990, the first Zoom product was unveiled: the 9002, an ultra-compact multi-effects processor designed to be attached to a guitar strap. It was a huge success.
The popular Zoom Player series of guitar effects was launched in 1994, along with the Zoom Studio series, which continue to be found in the racks of many musicians today.
But it was in 2006 that Zoom totally redefined the state of the art in audio for video with the release of the revolutionary H4 Handy Recorder. Small enough to be held in the palm of your hand, became standard of the industry.

The formation of Asystems began with a school reunion of engineering alumni 35 years after graduation from one of the most prestigious colleges in Taiwan. A group of industry veterans in leading audio and video companies sharing a dream of creating products that harness the latest, cutting-edge audio and video technologies whilst retaining the intuitive and user-friendly operation that are often missing on the market.
Dubbing themselves “The A-Team,” after the hit television series from the 80’s, they joined together to form what is now Asystems, because of its top tier technology, design and quality.
They quickly amassed the most creative engineering and design minds together with one objective in mind: to deliver top-notch products in commercial live sound, AV installations and recording systems that grant users the creative freedom without the technical restrictions.
